Alumnae Art Exhibit Opens Sunday
This juried show featuring the work of Mount Mary College Alumnae opens on Sunday, January 29 and runs through February 24 in the Marian Art Gallery. Meet the artists during the opening reception on January 29 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The show closes with a weekend of full- and half-day workshops designed to get the right side of your brain working. Choose from a variety of subjects including fashion, fine art, art therapy, interior design, and more. Find out more.

2011 in Review
Mount Mary College continues to shine with activity, growth and talent. As we look forward to the new year, we share a few of the many highlights enjoyed by the Mount Mary College community in 2011. President Eileen Schwalbach was named a recipient of the 2011 “Women Putting Their Stamp on Milwaukee” Award from the United States Postal Service (USPS) and as one of The Business Journal's "2011 Women of Influence" recognized in the category of Community Supporter. Dr. Schwalbach was also featured in a number of periodicals this past year commenting on issues of leadership and education. Click to read more.

The College makes history and expands its Art Therapy program to include a new professional doctorate degree, the first program of its kind in the United States. Click to read more.

Mary Staudenmaier, a long-time volunteer with the Diocese of Green Bay, received Mount Mary College's "Partner in Philanthropy" Award at the Greater Milwaukee Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Leona Knobloch-Nelson, Interior Design department chairperson, was named to the the "Forty under 40" list by "The Business Journal." The Association of Division III Independents named several team members to its high honor roll including volleyball outside hitter, Stephanie Hardwick (left), as October's player of the month, basketball guard, Jordan Osley, as "Player of the Year."Click to read more. Mount Mary celebrates newly renovated spaces on campus such as the Patrick and Beatrice Haggerty Library and Learning Commons, the Student Success Center, Parkway Place grill, several updated classrooms, and a new Barnes and Noble campus bookstore.Click to read more. Rachel Gonnering received "Top Panel Award" and "Top Student Award" from the National Communication Association (NCA) for her paper, "Training Student Employees to Effectively Apply Customer Service Principles to their Positions of Employment in Higher Education." The College hosted a very successful series of events to commemmorate the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, including a luncheon featuring nationally known speaker and 9/11 widow Susan Retik, an invitation to community members to read "Half the Sky," by Nicoholas D.
