Speaker announced for Nov. 8 community event

Business leader April Hansen will explore success through authenticity

Mount Mary’s Voices of Leadership event on Wednesday, Nov. 8, will feature TEDx speaker April Hansen, a national expert and thought leader in employee engagement and hypergrowth leadership.

Building on the Voices of Leadership 2022 theme of mental health, Hansen will share timely insights to help business leaders and individuals embrace authenticity and harness one’s own unique talents, skills, and experiences as a catalyst for success and happiness. Attendees will learn how to identify their own unique emotional edges, how to build authentic bridges between self and others, and how to remain deeply committed to life-long curiosity and growth.

Hansen’s insights have been featured on numerous media outlets, including CBS, CNBC, Forbes, New York Times Magazine, the Business Insider and the Daily. Hansen was named the 2019 Wisconsin Nurse Leader of the Year. In 2022, she was recognized as one of Staffing Industry Analysts' Global Power 150 – Women in Staffing, highlighting her influence and impact in the industry on a global scale. Additionally, Hansen was named to the Staffing 100 North America, which recognizes the top 100 most influential leaders in the staffing industry.

“The Women's Leadership Institute is excited to bring April Hansen to campus,” said Alexandra Hoslet, program manager for the Women's Leadership Institute at Mount Mary University. “Her insights on rejecting conformity, embracing authenticity, and using our work space to contribute in positive ways to people's lives will be inspirational and informative. April's takeaways will leave guests feeling confident about how to bring their authentic selves to their own work and life experiences."

Voices of Leadership is an annual keynote event for Mount Mary, providing the opportunity to engage in conversations with women leaders who have broken ground in entrepreneurship, innovation, social change and leadership. The event will be held from 7:30 to 10 a.m. in the Alumnae Dining Room in Bergstrom Hall. A panel discussion with local business professionals and Mount Mary faculty will follow the keynote.
