Summer courses now open for registration

Creativity and learning will continue into summer with Mount Mary’s 2019 summer course offerings. Classes will span a variety of subjects including communications, art, philosophy and more.

Here are some highlights:

  • Women and Theology looks at women’s experiences and writings in the Bible and Christian history through the lens of feminist theology.
  • The Short Story: Fashion and Identity examines the short story and flash fiction in terms of structure, characterization, and theme, including fashion/dress as revealing, aspiring, or masking identity.
  • Literature and the Healing Professions: From the earliest known writings literature has grappled with the problem of suffering and the resilience of the human spirit in times of difficulty. This course explores the way literature (fiction, poetry, drama and film) addresses human suffering whether in takes the form of physical, psychological or spiritual challenges and the way caregivers can be inspired to respond.

Summer courses can help students earn credits towards their degrees quicker, often leading to a savings in time and money.

Online and flexible scheduling and shorter terms of six to eight weeks enable students to progress towards their degrees with time to enjoy the warmer months.

All students are welcome to enroll in the summer courses, including current Mount Mary students and those who are enrolled full-time at other institutions. Students who are returning home for the summer are invited to enroll as well, as many of the courses can fulfill core requirements for a variety of majors.

Both graduate and undergraduate courses are available. To view current summer course offerings, visit mtmary.edu/summer.
