Mount Mary joins #GivingTuesday national movement

We support the Student Success Center on this national day of giving.

Mount Mary University has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.

Occurring this year on December 1, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday that kick-off the holiday giving season. It is geared to inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

This year, Mount Mary University wants to raise awareness of student support services. The focus is keeping students in the classroom and helping them to succeed and complete their degree. Giving is at the core of the Mount Mary mission. Students, faculty, and alumnae are deeply embedded in the community, addressing issues of affordable healthcare, advocating for social justice, and transforming our communities.

Here are three ways you can support #GivingTuesday at Mount Mary University:

  1. Help spread the word about #GivingTuesday.
  2. Use the hashtag #GivingTuesday to talk about charity and the causes and organizations you support.
