sas2015_web.jpgMILWAUKEE, WI (June 22, 2015) - The 46th Annual Starving Artists' Show® will take place on Sunday, September 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the west lawn of Mount Mary University's campus at 2900 North Menomonee River Parkway, Milwaukee, WI. The art show is sponsored by the Mount Mary University Alumnae Association, and the money raised at the show supports student scholarships for hundreds of talented women. The Show features over 230 local and national artists, offering original artwork priced at $100 and under.

The Show features a wide range of media including original paintings, drawings, photographs, jewelry, sculpture ceramics, glass and metal work, and fiber art. To ensure variety and quality, artists from across the nation were selected by an alumnae jury panel.

Proceeds from the Show benefit Mount Mary students through the endowed Alumnae Scholarship Fund, which helps individuals achieve their dreams of higher education. Hundreds of Milwaukee-area Mount Mary University graduates volunteer their time and talent to make this signature event a success.

The Starving Artists' Show® is one of the last outdoor art shows of the summer season and annually draws an average of 7,000 visitors during the day-long event. Dedicated art patrons begin lining up at 5:00 a.m., with several long-time patrons making a tradition of an early morning breakfast in line. The bells of the Notre Dame Hall Tower sound at 10 a.m., signaling the official start of the Show and sending avid shoppers sprinting toward their favorite artists' booths.

Admission is $10 per person, children under the age of 12 are free, and the admission price includes free parking. Advanced tickets can be purchased online at https://mmusas.eventbrite.com. Refreshments are also available for purchase on the show grounds, and the new ice cream concessions will support Mount Mary's Athletic Booster Club.
