Tennis Coaching Staff

Dr. Thomas Troast
Second Season

Dr. Thomas Troast, a wily veteran of the Mount Mary Department of Athletics, enters his second season at the helm of the Blue Angels' tennis program. The East Rutherford, N. J., native, Troast took over the tennis program last season and returns with high expectations this season.

Troast earned his coaching debut last year at MMC, and has remained an active participant with the United States Tennis Association. Representing Wisconsin the past several years at the Regional Tennis Championships, Troast brings a wealth of knowledge to not only the tennis squad, but also the entire Mount Mary College Department of Athletics.

Troast received his Bachelor's degree from Marquette University centuries ago, earned his Master's at Michigan State University and finished up his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Campus life was no foreign entity for Troast, as he served as a Residence Hall Director at MSU and was also the Assistant Director of Housing at UWM.

Professionally, and in addition to head tennis coach, Troast also serves as the Director of the Counseling Center based in the newly remodeled Haggerty Library. For the past 20 years, Troast has been a Psychotherapist and Organization Consultant. He has also served as the CEO and Clinical Director of Shore Counseling & Consulting Clinic in Wauwatosa.

Tom is still an active tennis player at the USTA level where he has represented Wisconsin at the Regional Tennis Championships. He is happily married with two children.
