Paris, France - Paris for fashion majors

Hone your fashion skills in Paris and experience the allure of the fashion capital of the world. Mount Mary College offers two course options for fashion majors, in Paris, next January: Paris Design Seminar and Trend Analysis. Our program is coordinated by Mr. Peter Carman, Director of the Paris American Academy. Students will be housed in centrally located apartments within walking distance of many primary sites in Paris.

Study literature in Paris, a city viewed as the writing capital of the Western world through much of the twentieth century, as part of a short term study abroad program. Paris has inspired countless writers, who were captivated by the city's physical beauty, its deep sense of history, and its exciting social life embodied in its restaurants and cafés. Read the works of world-famous writers such as Victor Hugo, Honore de Balzac, Gustave Flaubert, Emile Zola, and Charles Baudelaire, and stroll the streets of the city that inspired some of their greatest works.

Scotland and Ireland - for literature or sociology students
January 1 - 16, 2013

Rugged coastline, rolling green hills in the countryside, numerous lakes and vibrant cities compose the landscape of Ireland and Northern Ireland (U.K.). In Ireland, renowned for its saints, writers, freedom fighters and civil rights leaders, students will learn the rich history of the Irish and the historic "Troubles" in Northern Ireland through lectures, personal testimonies, and excursions to historical sites. Choose between a 3-credit Literature (CORE) course or a 3-credit Sociology (Humanistics CORE) course.

Madrid, Spain* - for language majors

Earn six credits of Spanish Language studying at Antonio de Nebrija University and live immersed in the Spanish culture with a host family in Madrid. This program is limited to 20 participants.

Nicaragua - for art therapy graduate students
June 8, 2012 - July 1, 2012

Available to Art Therapy graduate students and post-master's practitioners, this intensive hands-on practice opportunity takes place in Managua and environs working cross-culturally with local community development teams who are dedicated to helping people build a more humane, egalitarian, and sustainable future. Arequipa, Peru - for nursing students
July 6, 2012 - July 22, 2012
