Social Work Coursework

Flexible Scheduling: Social work classes are offered in the evenings, on Saturdays and during the day. (Check out the current class schedule for this semester.) These scheduling options accommodates a variety of needs and provides an attractive option for students who wish to complete a professional social work degree while working.

Fieldwork: In addition to classroom time, social work students engage in field placements. The entire metro Milwaukee area is used for field placements. Milwaukee's strong ethnic communities offer rich learning experiences for social work students.

Faculty and Students: The Social Work Program is one of the more diverse programs on campus. In 2005 over fifty percent of Social Work students were diverse in terms of race, ethnicity, country of origin or ability/disability. They represented diverse spiritual beliefs and they ranged in age from 18 and 19 years old to persons in their 50's and 60's. There are men as well as women social work faculty members and they too, reflect age and racial/ethnic diversity. This aspect of the Social Work Program directly correlates with the work of social work professionals.
