Soccer Coach Brian Staus

Brian Staus, soccer coach, Mount Mary College

Coach Brian Staus comes to Mount Mary College eager to help his student-athletes better understand the game and to help develop the team's competitive side by improving the soccer culture and team spirit.
He is originally from Hartford, Wisconsin and played high school soccer for Jack DeSelm at Hartford High School, before playing collegiately for Greg Henschel at UW-Whitewater.

Currently, Coach Staus is in his second year as the Director of Coaching for the Pewaukee Soccer Club, where he works with a number of coaches and youth teams to implement the club's player development program. He also coaches the girls U12 team for the club. In addition to his work at the youth level, Staus has previously coached at the high school level for over 10 seasons.

Most recently, he was the head boys soccer coach at Watertown High School for three seasons. During this time he led the team to their first consecutive winning seasons in school history and a WIAA Sectional appearance.

A large part of his inspiration comes from his two older brothers Randy and Jeff, who head the successful soccer programs at Pewaukee and Hartland-Arrowhead High Schools respectively. Brian has been fortunate enough to share a sideline with both Randy and Jeff as an assistant coach and considers these experiences to be among his most memorable in soccer.

Coach Staus currently resides outside of Milwaukee with his wife Bethany and son Eli.
