Friday, July 9, 2010, The Business Journal Serving Greater Milwaukee quoted College President, Eileen Schwalbach who co-chairs the Talent Dividend Initiative through the Greater Milwaukee Committee. Mount Mary Professor featured in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
In mid-June, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel featured an article by Annysa Johnson entitled "Apps bring religion into the 21st century." Mount Mary's Associate Professor of Theology, Dr. Donald Rappé was photographed and quoted in the article. Read the article.

Mount Mary College teams up with WCTC in transfer agreement
Mount Mary College signed a Degree Completion Agreement with Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC) on June 30, 2010 that will allow WCTC associate degree graduates to transfer credits to Mount Mary College to earn a Liberal Studies bachelor’s degree.

Marian Gallery Opens Bazyli Studio Exhibit
“Inspired Design,” a new exhibit featuring works by Door County’s Bazyli Studio artists Skye and Peter Ciesla will be on display September 19 – October 22 in the Marian Art Gallery beginning with an artists’ reception, Sunday, Sept. 19, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Marian Gallery hosts Janet Roberts
“Unlikely Muses,” an exhibit featuring paintings by Janet Roberts is on display June 6 through August 28, 2010, in Mount Mary College’s Marian Art Gallery. The event is free and open to the public. Read the press release, May 26.

Mount Mary College has received two new grants
The Jane Bradley Pettit Foundation awarded the College a $500,000 grant to support construction of a Student Success Center in the College’s Haggerty Library. The new Center will provide welcoming gathering spaces and collaborative work stations for students as well as promote academic engagement through integrated resources and services.
The Greater Milwaukee Foundation awarded a $25,000 grant to Mount Mary to design and implement Students
Building Bridges, a new program for college students from diverse backgrounds. The initiative will pilot during the 2010-
11 academic year and will provide 50-75 college women the opportunity to develop relationships across ethnic and racial
identities. With over 85% of Mount Mary graduates remaining in the Milwaukee area, the skills and experiences they
gain during the program will later assist the community in reaching its full economic and social potential. Read the press release, July 7.

College hires additional External Relations staff
Mount Mary College Vice President of External Relations Donna Gastevich has announced the addition of personnel to the External Relations Department. Cynthia Echols has been appointed Senior Director External Relations & Campaign Manager. Mary Kate Nava has been appointed Major Gifts Officer. Mary McCann has been appointed Discovery Officer. Tyler Curtis has been appointed Grant Writer.
“We’re pleased to welcome these professionals to the External Relations team,” stated Gastevich. “Their experience will contribute greatly to the institutional advancement of Mount Mary.”

Mount Mary Welcomes New VP for Enrollment Services
Mount Mary College President Eileen Schwalbach has announced the appointment of David Wegener to the position of Vice President for Enrollment Services. In his new position, Wegener will manage the enrollment process for Mount Mary’s undergraduate and graduate, as well as accelerated and continuing education divisions.
