Physical Education and Dance Classes

College Credit Courses: Mount Mary students can enroll in physical education/fitness classes for college credit. The following courses are offered each semester. For a current course listing, check out this semester's class schedule.

  • PED 229 - Beginning Weight Training (2 cr.)
  • PED 230 - Introduction to Cardio-Aerobic Weight Training (2 cr.)
  • PED 232 - Weight Training for Special Needs (2 cr.)
  • PED 218 - Cross Training (2 cr.)

These courses help students learn to use the equipment properly. In addition, students can work on individualized programs for strength, weight loss, rehabilitation, cardiovascular development, or sports conditioning.

Dance Courses: Mount Mary's Dance Program focuses on modern dance - self-expression through movement. The department offers a variety of movement based classes including:

  • Modern Dance Technique
  • Dance Composition
  • Dance Performance
  • Exploring Dances of the World

The department also offers a variety of dance history courses including:

  • Dance History (World)
  • Modern Dance History
  • Ballet History
  • Dance in Film
