What is occupational therapy?
Occupational therapy is a health profession that focuses on redesigning daily occupations in order to maximize independence in living. Occupational therapy students engage in experiential learning in laboratory settings both on campus and in the professional world.
Making Headlines
Occupational Therapy graduate student, Arti Berry, has recently
been named Chairperson for the Wisconsin
Arthritis Action Council, 2009-2011, based on work she has done
for the Arthritis Inventory and her participation as a council member.
Ms. Berry will graduate from Mount Mary in May 2010.
Mount Mary alumna, Kim Berndt, conducted a TV
interview regarding her work as an Occupational
Therapist for Aurora Health Care in Oshkosh, Summer 2009.
In October 2008, The American Occupational
Therapy Association, Inc. released new information regarding
the employment outlook for occupational therapy. The press
release headline reads "Occupational Therapy Named
One of Nation's 150 Best Recession-Proof Jobs - Occupational Therapy
Among the Best Paying, Fastest Growing Jobs."
In December 2008, US News and World Report released "Best
Careers 2009" which listed occupational therapy as a top career
