Information for a Transfer Nursing Student
someone who has some previous college experience and dreams
of becoming a nurse and a graduate of Columbia College of Nursing
and Mount Mary College
Each student's past college experience is unique and at Columbia
College of Nursing/Mount Mary College we emphasize personal attention.
A nursing advisor is assigned to each transfer nursing student and
together they work to reach the student's goal of earning a bachelor's
degree in nursing.
The Columbia/Mount Mary nursing program is a generalist degree
affording students the opportunity for a variety of workforce
placement options and continuing education.
Many students can transfer a significant amount of general education
credits into the required
nursing curriculum which gives students the opportunity to complete
nursing courses in just four semesters. Each student will be evaluated
based on their previous educational experience. Students should
schedule an appointment with the Nursing
Admission Counselor to discuss our generous
transfer credit policy.
The Nursing Program is open to both male and female students
and now offers the option of direct admission into the program.
The classroom experience at Columbia/Mount Mary is truly unique.
Students learn from passionate and caring
faculty who use technologically advanced clinical nursing simulation
centers and computerized patient mannequins. State-of-the-art classroom
technology and new campus facilities enhance the student experience.
