Information
for a BSN Completion Student
someone who is already an RN and wishes to
earn a bachelor degree in nursing
In order to enroll in the BSN Completion Program students must
be licensed as a Registered

is made through additional education. Nurses who have returned to
college for their BSN have experienced enhanced career mobility
and additional economic security. Columbia College of Nursing and
Mount Mary College offers a BSN Completion Program providing students
with a base of liberal arts focused courses combined with upper
level nursing courses and clinical experiences. Students learn from
practice-rich
faculty who are up-to-date with current trends and methods in
the nursing field.
Coursework
BSN Completion students can receive credit for previous college
work. Please speak with the Nursing Admission Counselor regarding which courses will transfer to Columbia/Mount
Mary.
Students may receive credit by examination for nursing course NUR322, Altered Health Processes and completion of the Comprehensive Health Assessment Examination. Upon successful completion of these courses students will receive 37 transfer credits from their previous nursing coursework.
Students can enroll either full- or part-time in the BSN Completion Program and courses are offered in day and summer formats. There is also a flexible completion schedule of between 1.5 and 7 years. On average, BSN Completion students need to complete nine core courses and nine nursing courses. These can be completed in three years by taking two courses at a time in spring, summer, and fall terms.
