Music Ensembles and Private Lessons

The music department offers seven music ensembles that perform for campus and community events. Opportunities to perform in vocal and instrumental ensembles or as a soloist are open to all Mount Mary students, faculty, administrators, and staff, as well as to community members for one credit or non-credit.

Vocal Ensembles: Carolyn Choir, Madrigal Singers (audition required), College Children's Chorus

Instrumental Ensembles: Handbell Choir, Recorder Consort, String Ensemble, String Quartet

Private lessons in piano, voice, violin, viola, cello, organ and guitar are an integral part of the college curriculum, as well as class instruction in piano, voice, and guitar. Enrollment for credit or non-credit is open to all students.

The piano lab is equipped with nine KORG digital pianos and studio pianos. Throughout the campus there are a number of quality, well-maintained Steinway pianos.

Computer assisted programs and practice rooms are available for student use.
