Mount Mary's excellence is grounded in the accomplishments of its graduates. The Madonna Medal represents the highest honor bestowed on an alumna by the Mount Mary College Alumnae Association. These annual awards recognize the outstanding accomplishments of its honorees in the areas of professional excellence, community service, and service to the Alumnae Association and/or the College. Nominations can be made by an alumna or Mount Mary faculty/staff member who is aware of the distinguished work of an alumna, and can provide the necessary information and documentation. As only a limited number of awards are given each year, nominations may be held for three years for subsequent consideration. Print, complete and return the Madonna Medal Nomination Form (PDF) to nominate an outstanding Mount Mary alumna.
The 2008 Madonna Award Recipients will be honored at Reunion and include:
- Mary Rademacher Rose, Class of 1963, for Community Service
- Susan Burns Nelson, Class of 1975 & 1993, for Professional Excellence
- Mary Bauer Kallenbach, Class of 1963, for Service to the College and Alumnae Association
