Mount Mary College educates women in the liberal arts tradition. For more than 90 years Mount Mary College has provided an environment and an approach to teaching and learning that emphasizes development of the whole person.

Program Details: The liberal studies program offers a woman who holds an associate degree from an accredited technical college in a technical/professional field the opportunity to complete a bachelor of arts degree. In this degree completion program students complete a 64-credit major in liberal studies. The liberal studies major includes courses in the sciences and humanities. Students will also complete a concentration in one area of liberal studies such as arts and literature, science or social science. See curriculum.

Careers: The liberal studies major is designed to enhance career opportunities in a variety of fields. A degree from Mount Mary College provides a broad prospective for students to develop their interests, talents and goals into a solid career path.

Degree Requirements: Women holding an associate degree will enter Mount Mary College with a maximum of 64 credits earned in a technical field, leaving 64 credits necessary to complete the liberal studies major and earn a bachelor's degree. Students must have earned a grade of C or higher in order for a course to transfer. Credits earned at the associate degree level will be reviewed for transfer directly into the liberal studies major. Students wanting a complete review of their associate degree credits should submit an application for admission and an official copy of their transcripts to Mount Mary College. Apply now.

Capstone Course: The culminating experience in the liberal studies majors is a capstone course. This seminar/independent project provides an opportunity to integrate the skills and knowledge acquired through the associate degree with those acquired at Mount Mary College. The course is usually scheduled for the semester prior to graduation.
