A report issued in 2002 by the Institute for Women's Policy Research in Washington, D.C., gave Wisconsin an overall grade of C- for the quality of life for women in our state. In response to this report, Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton launched an economic development initiative called Wisconsin Women=Prosperity. The vision is to ensure that women participate fully in Wisconsin society, so that they may make their best contributions in every level of the workplace as well as in corporate, political and civic realms, and to drive economic growth for our state by increasing the success rate of women. At the Leadership Forum, Lawton spoke about how you can raise the grade in your community!
