The Interior Design Profession

Is Interior Design Right for You?
Interior design programs exist within four year and two year institutions. You must think about your desired career path in order to make a decision about the education you should choose.

  • How far do you wish to go in your career and what do you wish to do with it?
  • Do you want to be a licensed interior designer, pass the NCIDQ, be a professional member of an organization?
  • Do you want the type of career a CIDA accredited degree makes possible?
  • Do you wish to earn a master’s degree now, later, or not at all?
  • Do you want to be a design assistant or director?

You can answer these questions for either degree but answers will be different. Don’t under or over educate yourself for your plans.
