About the Mount Mary College Interior Design Department

The Mount Mary College Council for Interior Design Accreditation accredited Interior Design Department is housed within the Art & Design Division resulting in a four year undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree; interior design skills integrate with the sciences, aesthetics, human behavior, literature, philosophy, and theology to create a well rounded individual.

The program is recognized for its excellence among employers, students, and peers across the country. It is focused on academic, personal, and social development while providing exceptional opportunities in networking, community involvement, and practical experience.

Many class projects consist of real spaces represented by actual clients and are juried by interior design practitioners.  An exceptional number of speakers and field trips begin with an orientation class and follow through the interior design courses.  Classes are taught by caring faculty members who bring their professional and educational experience to the classroom.  There are no teaching assistants.

Accreditation

The Mount Mary College Interior Design Department is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Education Accreditation (CIDA) which was formerly known as FIDER. The program has been continually accredited since 1986. Council for Interior Design Education Accreditation (CIDA), 146 Monroe Center NW, Suite 1318, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503-2822, (616) 458-0400.
