Rated as one of the top programs in the country, Mount Mary's fashion program melds the excitement of change, the challenges of new technology, and a sensitivity to design, manufacturing, and merchandising which enhances student ability to create innovative and functional solutions.
Through the program, fashion students are introduced to real-world experiences and use state-of-the-art computers to gain a working knowledge of industry technology.
The Fashion Department has developed a unique, cooperative relationship with the fashion industry, offering students the opportunity to observe, consult and work in the field. Representatives from product development, retailing, and promotion participate through guest lectures, field trips, critiques, and cooperative projects. Mount Mary has what is called articulation agreements with Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) and Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC). These agreements make it possible for students in the MATC and WCTC associate degree programs in fashion to transfer after two years into the Mount Mary baccalaureate program in merchandise management as juniors.
