Fashion Study Tours

The Fashion Department sponsors a study tour to New York City every other year in fall. Students have the opportunity to visit textile and apparel museums, fabric fairs, forecasting services, design studios, apparel showrooms, and influential shopping areas.

Fashion majors have the opportunity to study in Paris every other year during January. Mount Mary faculty partner with the Paris American Academy to provide classes in apparel and accessory design and trend analysis. The program includes hands-on study with European designers, couture drapers, accessory designers, art and costume historians, and trend forecasters. Students are housed in apartments and attend classes at the Paris American Academy.

Mount Mary College has an affiliation agreement with the American Intercontinental University in London where apparel product development majors and merchandise management majors can take classes for a semester or over the summer. Credits taken in London will transfer to Mount Mary College. Internship opportunities are also available through AIU.

Mount Mary College sponsors study abroad opportunities in Peru during the summer. Peru is well-known for its high quality cotton, alpaca, and vicuna. Advanced fashion students can fulfill their internship in Peru. Mount Mary College also offers study abroad experiences in over 10 different countries.

Tour and study trips are optional.
