Requirements for Teacher Education Fieldwork

“I was glad that my field experience as a student teacher began in my freshman year.  I didn’t have to wait three years to find out how I’d feel in front of a classroom of middle schoolers.” - Wendy Foti, Class of 2000

Relation to College Courses

Most of the fieldwork experiences are directly connected to education department course work. For each of the goals of the teacher education program there are sets of knowledge and performance objectives. It is through the clinical experiences that teacher candidates have the opportunity to achieve the performance objectives. Each specific education department program has its own unique structure to help students to meet the fieldwork goals and objectives.
