The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction General Studies Requirements

In addition to fulfilling Mount Mary’s core curriculum requirements, students in teacher education need to fulfill the General Studies Requirements of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. These include:

Written Communication Oral Communication
Mathematics Fine Arts
Social Studies Biological Science
Humanities Physical Science
Western History/Culture Non-Western History/Culture

With the help of an advisor, students may select courses that satisfy both the College’s core curriculum requirements and the State’s General Studies requirements and fit into the professional education sequence of courses.
