dieteticsUndergraduate Admission Information

Students who choose to pursue a career in dietetics are committed to encouraging healthy decisions about nutritional care for people of all ages and in many different settings. The undergraduate dietetics major prepares students to become dietitians who are highly qualified professionals and recognized as experts in food and nutrition.

The Mount Mary dietetics program is the only one in the area that prepares students to be eligible to take the registered dietitian exam upon completion of the program.

Students are admitted into the Coordinated Program during the first semester of the sophomore sequence of the program. An application and three recommendations are required along with a personal interview.

Students must have an overall grade point average of 2.75 as well as in those courses required for the dietetics major with a minimum grade of "C" in all dietetics major courses for full admission to the program.

Prior to beginning the junior sequence of the program, students are required to complete 160 hours of dietetic related work experience.
