The internship is 9 ½ months in length beginning in mid- August and continuing through the end of May. Students are expected to work the schedule assigned by the cooperating institutions, which may include early, late, and weekend assignments. The assigned schedule is normally 32-40 hours per week at the practice site, with bi-weekly meetings weekdays on campus. Additional disease prevention/health promotion activities are carried out throughout fall and spring semester, primarily during the day. Assignments and projects will require additional time to complete. Access to a computer and the Internet are required to complete most assignments.
