The MS in Dietetics provides dietitians with a foundation of knowledge and skills to help them advance and excel in the ever-changing field of dietetics. The Component 2 courses allow students the flexibility to select from professional development courses of interest that will most enhance their current position, or help prepare them for a change or promotion in their work setting. For example:
- A clinical dietitian with a career goal of private practice might find Small Business Management and Evidence Based Practice courses such as Diabetes & Renal Diseases and Gastrointestinal & Ancillary Systems useful.
- A dietitian working in a setting where she uses writing skills or who would like to write as a career would benefit from taking courses such as Integrated Human Nutrition, Workshop in Technical Communication and Design, Writing for Publication, and Writing for the Health Professions.
- A dietitian employed in or seeking employment in a wellness setting might find Exercise Physiology I & II, Fitness Assessment and Exercise Program Design, and Nutrition for Fitness & Sport beneficial.
The Program Director is available to assist students in selecting courses that best meet their career goals.
* From its inception, Mount Mary College has been a women's college. Male students are welcome to enroll in our undergraduate nursing, post-baccalaureate certificate, and all graduate programs.
