Theology Department
The quest to find meaning in the study of God and the relationship between God and the universe is the foundation of theology. Studying theology also can engage a person to develop his or her own faith perspective.
Mount Mary’s Theology Department offers students many opportunities to understand and find meaning in the Judeo-Christian tradition, while being open to both Christian and non-Christian viewpoints.
When studying theology at Mount Mary College you’ll:
- gain a strong foundation in the liberal arts
- learn from qualified professors (no teaching assistants)
- engage biblical, historical and systematic study of Judeo-Christian Tradition
- have the opportunity to explore diverse religious traditions and theological viewpoints
- develop your own spirituality
Mount Mary’s theology major is designed for those interested in:
- parish leadership or ministry
- religious education
- enhancing another major area of study or career
- personal enrichment
- attending graduate school
Theology majors are encouraged to complete an internship to enrich their experiences outside the academic setting. Religious education students complete student teaching.
