Music at Mount Mary College

Mount Mary promotes a holistic atmosphere in which students are provided with information and experiences necessary for the understanding, enjoyment and performance of music.

For all Mount Mary students, knowledge and applied music study is available in all introductory and historical esthetics courses and through participation in the ensembles. Children and adults are also invited to take private lessons in a variety of instruments. Professional teachers are encouraged to expand their teacher training by participating in the Orff Schulwerk program.

While enhancing the quality of campus life and events, the Music Department offers musical experiences appropriate to meet the needs and interests of the individual today and in future years as performer or discriminating consumer of music.

Mount Mary College hosts a number of musical events on campus such as -

• Spring and Fall concerts
• Student recitals
• On-campus piano and instrumental auditions for area music organizations
• Milwaukee Area Piano Teachers Association events
• American Recorder Society, Milwaukee Area Chapter monthly workshops and events
• Milwaukee Symphony Chorus weekly rehearsals
• Bel Canto Chorus weekly rehearsals
