Communication Areas of Study Major in Communication with a Communication Studies concentraion- Through the communication arts curriculum students learn to communicate with others in a variety of settings, including speaking before audiences, giving small group presentations, interacting with clients and co-workers, working on teams or task forces, and leading task groups. Students learn a variety of skills and knowledge necessary in an expanding global workplace. See curriculum. Major in Communication with a Public Relations concentration- The public relations concentration combines courses from the English, communication, and business administration departments. The focus is on helping students build the fundamental skills, knowledge, and experience necessary for a career in public relations. See curriculum. Certificate in Public Relations - People who already have a bachelor’s degree can earn our Public Relations Certificate in order to enhance their professional skills and knowledge. Minor in Communication - A minor in communication is an excellent supplement to many majors. Students with majors such as business administration, behavioral science, English, and others have chosen communication as a minor. See curriculum. |
