| Designed as a three-year undergraduate experience, the Caroline Scholars Program provides challenging academic work, leadership development and financial assistance to academically gifted young women.
Program components include:
- academic seminar
- community service
experiences
- leadership development
- financial assistance - full tuition, room and board for three years (fees and books are not
included)
In spring 2006, six students will be
selected as the third cohort of Caroline Scholars and will begin their experience in fall 2006.
The Caroline Scholars Program is open to students new to the College who have four more full-time semesters remaining until graduation. Preference will be given to those who are enrolled or have completed the Leadership for Social Justice Seminar.
The program provides scholars with a full tuition scholarship for three years, as well as room and board stipend for the residence hall. Living in the residence hall is a requirement of the program.
Program participation allows students to be actively engaged in the community without the burden of having to work significantly to pay for tuition and room and board.
See criteria for selection and an application (PDF) or call (414) 256-1203 for additional information.
The Caroline Scholars Program is named after Mother Caroline Friess, who established the School Sisters of Notre Dame in North America and set up more than 250 schools in the eastern half of the United States, including the institution which in 1913 became Mount Mary College. Funding for the Caroline Scholars Program is provided by the Trinity Foundation of Wisconsin, a supporting organization of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, and Mount Mary College.
