Student Involvement
Other opportunities for enrichment outside the
classroom include activities sponsored by the Behavioral
Science Club, Alpha Kappa Delta, the International
Sociology Honor Society, and Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. Activities include:
Service learning projects to support the
underserved in Milwaukee
Fundraisers to help support
- Sister House, a
temporary shelter for women in crisis and their
children
- Auer Avenue School, a school in Milwaukee’s inner city in need of supplies
- Notre Dame Middle School, a school for Hispanic girls
Research: Behavioral science students are also encouraged to
submit exceptional research projects to peer-reviewed
journals in the disciplines. They may also publish works as research assistants on various studies
currently being conducted by Mount Mary faculty.
Current events:
Relative to the classroom work, the Behavioral Science
Department frequently brings guest speakers to campus.

Featuring Rob Ricigliano, author of "Making Peace Last: Strategies for Sustainable Peacebuilding," peacebuilding practitioner and director of the Institute of World Affairs at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.

- Meg Kissinger, award winning journalist from the
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, spoke about the lack of
adequate, affordable housing in Milwaukee for individuals struggling with mental illness
