Mount Mary Hosts National Art Exhibit: In November 2009, Mount
Mary College hosted a major art exhibition in the
Marian Gallery - "Divinity and Madness" An Exhibition of Work
by the Artists of The Living Museum: Creedmoor Psychiatric Center,
Queens, NY. Creedmoor is home to the museum of art dedicated to
and created by individuals with a mental illness. Hear Dr. Bruce Moon, Director of
the Mount Mary College Graduate Art Therapy Program, and Dr. Janos
Marton, co-founder and director of the The Living Museum,
discuss the field of art therapy on
Lake Effect-WUWM (40:05-54:14).
"When Words Aren't Enough,"
an article written by Lori Mackey, a member of Mount
Mary College's graduate art therapy program, appears in Quintessential
Barrington, July-August 2009. Lori writes about her work as
a Registered Art Therapist and Certified Child Life Specialist at
the Wellness Place in Palatine, Illinois, and displays some examples
of art done by the patients she services.

Sculptural Pursuit: Mount Mary Art
Therapy graduate, Allison DeCamillis, is featured in the Summer
2009 edition of Sculptural Pursuit about her work as an art
therapist in Birmingham, Alabama.
