Nicaragua Summer Internship In Summer 2008, an exciting opportunity for an international internship was coordinated through the Art Therapy Department. The internship in Managua, Nicaragua provided students an exceptional opportunity to deepen and renew a sense of responsibility for the world and to act with compassion as art therapists who aspire to live with gratitude and commitment to social justice and the common good. Students spent between 100 and 200 hours of supervised, intensive, hands-on art therapy work as part of their internship. Social action projects involved art therapy with preschoolers, special needs children, at-risk adolescents, domestic violence and gender education, or rural environmentalists.
