Spring Art Therapy Symposium -
"SHADOWS AND LIGHT:
Art, Therapy,
and Depth"
This all-day spring symposium on art therapy was held in April 2012 and featured a keynote presentation by nationally known author and presenter, Shaun McNiff, PhD ATR, HLM. The presentation, "Creating with the Shadow: a Call for Depth," addressed the role art plays in the healing process, the limitations of artistic expression and ways art therapy has undermined its own professionalism.
There were also presentations and workshops by prominent regional art therapists and art therapy educators. The symposium concluded with an evening of performance artworks and a wine and cheese reception.
