As instructors dedicated to excellence in teaching, Dr. Jane Baldridge, education department, and Sister Carla Huebner, SSND, art department, Mount Mary College, are especially concerned with teacher education. It is our conviction that preparation for and continual updating in academic and curricular developments are essential to professional growth and success. Based on current brain research and its conclusions about the necessity of making connections between bodies of knowledge for deeper and more wholistic understandings, we have engaged elementary teachers to create thematic units integrating many areas of the curriculum with art and technology as the connecting threads. This website grew out of work supported by the Milwaukee Archdiocesan Supporting Fund for the purposes of increasing the use of technology and the teaching of art in the Catholic schools.
