WINDOW FOCUS: In the eighth grade stu- dents are guided by the teacher in becoming aware of various religious beliefs. In "Numbering at Bethlehem" by Pieter Brueghel, the six- teenth century artist puts the biblical story in a contempo- rary setting. A discussion of this artistic interpretation could heighten the students' a- wareness of the variety of ex- pressions of truth as it is per- ceived and experienced by peo- ples of diverse cultures and times. |
